Oceanport

The Borough of Oceanport has a land area of 3.10 square miles and is located in the eastern part of Monmouth County, at the head of the Shrewsbury River. Prior to the extension of rail lines through Monmouth County, Oceanport played an important role in the shipping of local harvests to New York. Now, Oceanport is a predominantly residential community, with many waterfront homes and a population of 5,868. Residents enjoy the Shrewsbury River for its scenic beauty and recreational opportunities. Oceanport is also home to the U.S. Army’s Fort Monmouth and the Monmouth Park Race Track, one of the most beautiful thoroughbred tracks in the country.
