Asbury Park, New Jersey is one of the most iconic places in America.  The seaside city an eclectic destination, as a result of it’s strong support of performing arts.  Residents and tourists flock to Asbury for film, music and arts festivals, an enjoy more than 40 bars and restaurants.  It is one of the more notable LGBTQ-nurturing towns in the nation, alongside Ocean Grove which sits just south. With a population of 16,930 residents, the oceanside city of Asbury stretches a total of 1.6 square miles.  It sits north of Bradley Beach, east of Neptune City and south of Long Branch and is part of Monmouth County.

It is home to The Stone Pony, founded in 1974.  The Stone Pony is an iconic starting point for many performers, most notably Bruce Springsteen.  The city is considered a mecca for performing arts because of its progressive nature and nurturing of the music, art, diversity and more.  The city features a downtown area along Cookman Avenue, lakeside restaurants such as the Biergarten, and rising condominiums such as the Ocean Club.

Asbury Park NJ Schools

Asbury Park’s public schools are operated by Asbury Park Public Schools. Schools in the district are Bangs Avenue Elementary School, Bradley Elementary School and Thurgood Marshall Elementary School for grades K-5; Asbury Park Middle School and Asbury Park Alternative Middle School for grades 6-8; and Asbury Park High School for grades 9-12.

Students may also attend Academy Charter High School, located in Lake Como, which serves residents of Allenhurst, Asbury Park, Avon-by-the-Sea, Belmar, Bradley Beach, Deal, Interlaken and Lake Como, and accepts students on a lottery basis.
